Featuring selected works by award-winning Singaporean
photographers: Goh Kim Hui, Cheang Sin Hung, Ng Gek
Meng and Hor Kwok Kin.
The Photographic Society of Singapore (PSS) will showcase
60 selected works of four award-winning Singaporean
photographers in an exhibition aptly called Into the
Light. This exhibition will be held in conjunction with
Photo & Imaging Asia 2001, which is also organised
by PSS at the Singapore International Convention and
Exhibition Centre.
By organizing this exhibition, the PSS hopes to provide
aspiring photographers the opportunity to see the novel
techniques of these prominent photographers, and how
by their application of imagination, they see more things
than escapes those who see only the obvious. It is also
a source of inspiration. The exhibits include landscapes,
mood studies of animals, flora and fauna, and graphic
interpretations of ordinary subjects.
Minister for National Development Mr Mah Bow Tan will
open the exhibition on 25 May, 10.30 am. Mr Mah is one
of the guest exhibitors in the same show. The other
guest exhibitors are: Sr Minister of State for the Environment,
Mr Sidek Saniff, Sr Parliamentary Secretary for Information
& the Arts Mr Yatiman Yusof, Nanyang Academy of
Fin Arts Principal Mr Ho Kah Leong, and CDL MD
Mr Kwek Leng Joo.
